Is Belize safe compared to Cancún?
Both have areas to be aware of. Belize City has elevated crime in specific neighbourhoods (tourists don't typically go to these), but tourist areas, Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, Cayo, Placencia, are safe and relaxed. Cancún's Hotel Zone is heavily policed and designed to be safe for tourists; parts of downtown Cancún require more awareness. Both destinations are broadly safe for normal tourist activities when you follow standard precautions.
Can you do Belize and Cancún in the same trip?
