Belize Travel Insider (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information needed to operate this website:
- Contact form submissions, name, email address, and your message when you contact us.
- Newsletter signups, email address only.
- Analytics data, page views, session duration, and outbound link clicks (aggregated, not personally identifiable). See Section 4.
- Attribution data, UTM parameters (e.g.
utm_source,utm_campaign) stored in your browser to understand which content leads to bookings.
We do not collect payment information. All bookings are handled directly by third-party partners.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to enquiries and provide travel planning support.
- To send newsletters you have opted into (you may unsubscribe at any time).
- To measure site performance and understand which content is most useful to visitors.
- To measure affiliate conversion rates to support the free operation of this site.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Processors
We use the following third-party services that may process data on our behalf:
- Vercel, hosting and edge infrastructure. Processes server logs including IP addresses.
- Sentry, error monitoring. May capture anonymised stack traces and browser metadata.
- Analytics provider, aggregated, consent-gated visit data. No cross-site tracking.
- Email provider, stores newsletter subscriber email addresses.
Each processor operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements. Links to their policies are available on their respective websites.
4. Analytics & Cookies
Analytics cookies are only set after you grant consent via the banner shown on your first visit. We track events such as outbound partner clicks, form submissions, and page engagement to improve content.
Attribution data (UTM parameters) is stored in localStorage on first visit and is retained for up to 90 days to attribute bookings to the correct campaign.

5. Third-Party Links
This website links to third-party booking platforms (Viator, GetYourGuide, Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, and others). Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply. We have no control over data collected by those platforms.
6. Data Retention
- Contact form submissions, retained for up to 2 years or until you request deletion.
- Newsletter subscriptions, retained until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data, aggregated only; no individual retention.
- Server logs, retained by Vercel per their standard policy (typically 30 days).
7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification, ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure, request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction, ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Portability, receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Opt-out of sale, we do not sell personal data, but you may request confirmation.

8. Children’s Privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
