Bay Towers stands on the west shore of north Caye Caulker, across the Split from the village, and the hotel arranges the crossing: a taxi to the Northern Fisherman's Coop dock, then its own boat over to the property. The position gives the building both of the island's best hours, sunrise over the reef from the east balconies and sunset over the water from the west verandahs, with the ground floor looking straight down the west shoreline.
The six units run larger than most rooms on Caye Caulker. Building one holds four suites of roughly 1,100 square feet apiece, each with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, living and dining areas and a fully equipped kitchen, named floor by floor up to the fourth floor Seahorse Den. Building two adds two cozy one bedroom air conditioned units with kitchenettes and smart TVs, and the rooftop opens onto a 360 degree view of the island, the surrounding cayes and the sea.
A pool, a pier and free WiFi round out the grounds, with kayaks, paddle boards and a peddle boat available on site. Stays carry a two night minimum, check in is at 2:00 pm and check out at 11:00 am, children under 12 stay free in existing beds, and rates are quoted on request. For travelers who want the reef and the village within reach but a quiet sunset base away from the bustle, Bay Towers is a distinctive pick.
