Down the Hummingbird Highway to the Garifuna coast
Hopkins sits about 2.5 to 3 hours south of the international airport via the Hummingbird Highway, widely called the prettiest drive in Belize. The village is the base for Garifuna culture, the Cockscomb jaguar preserve, and the waterfalls at Mayflower Bocawina, and the right transfer depends on whether you'll want wheels once you're there.

A private or shared shuttle takes about 2.5-3 hours via the Hummingbird Highway. The faster option is the 20-minute domestic flight to Dangriga plus a 25-35 minute taxi. Rent a car if you plan to self-drive to Cockscomb or the waterfalls.
