Not for a short stay or a transit day. It is mostly a logistics base, so the best way to use it is to keep your expectations aligned with that. Stay near the tourist areas, use taxis at night, and move on if your trip is focused on beach or jungle time.

Most travelers spend half a day to one night, enough to clear customs, catch a domestic connection or water taxi, and see the main landmarks. If you arrive by afternoon and leave for the islands or Cayo the next morning, one night is practical. The Museum of Belize, St. John's Cathedral, and a waterfront walk can fill a few hours. The Belize Zoo is a good morning stop if you have transfer time before a flight.

The tourist areas, Fort George, Tourism Village, and the waterfront around the Swing Bridge are the parts travelers usually stick to. Use normal city sense, take taxis after dark, and avoid wandering into unfamiliar neighborhoods. Most travelers transit through without incident and do not treat it as a long stay base.

Two options: water taxi or domestic flight. Water taxi from the Marine Terminal reaches Caye Caulker and San Pedro several times a day, while domestic flights from the Municipal Airstrip are the faster option if you are carrying luggage or have a tight schedule. The right choice depends on whether you care more about cost or saving time.
