Things to do in Belize you can actually book: snorkeling at Hol Chan, the ATM Cave, Maya ruins, ziplining, fishing, and food tours, all via Viator.
Getting Around
Getting around Belize made simple: water taxi schedules to the cayes, Tropic Air domestic flights, NBC bus timetables, BZE airport transfers, shuttles, and rental cars.

ATM Cave, Xunantunich, the Barrier Reef, the greatest hits, perfectly paced.
Active pace · 8 days
Belize is built for adventure travel. ATM Cave, Caracol, and the Barrier Reef form the backbone of every serious active itinerary, connected by the Western Highway and the scenic Hummingbird Highway southeast.
Phase 01
Day 1
Arrive at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport and transfer west along the Western Highway (~2 hrs) to San Ignacio. Settle in, explore Burns Avenue for BBQ and cold Belikin beer, and orientate at the Welcome Center.
Day 2
Full-day guided tour into Actun Tunichil Muknal, wade and swim through stream-filled passages to a cathedral-like chamber holding complete Maya skeletons and ceramic vessels untouched for over a millennium. One of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the Americas.
No destination packs this much into a single day's drive.

Day 3
Cross the Mopan River by hand-cranked ferry at San Jose Succotz to reach Xunantunich. Climb El Castillo (130 ft) for views stretching into Guatemala, and study the carved friezes on the east and west faces. Afternoon option: El Pilar, the Maya forest garden straddling the Belize-Guatemala border.
Day 4
Drive the scenic Hummingbird Highway to Nohoch Che'en Park. Float through the Caves Branch river system on inner tubes with a headlamp, pottery shards and ancient human footprints are still embedded in the cave floor. Or swap for zip-lining: 8 platforms, 70 feet above the rainforest canopy.
Day 5
Domestic flight from Belize City Municipal Airport to San Pedro (20 min). Rent a golf cart to explore town, browse the shops, and orient yourself on the island before a laid-back evening at a beachside bar.
Day 6
Half-day snorkel tour to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. Drift over a 30-foot reef with schools of snapper and grouper, then wade at Shark Ray Alley with nurse sharks, southern stingrays, and sea turtles within arm's reach.
Phase 03
Day 7
Open day to choose your pace. Beginner SCUBA intro dive at a San Pedro dive shop, parasailing over the reef for aerial views, paddleboarding, kayaking north toward the mangrove lagoons, or a spa morning at a resort.
Day 8
Water taxi or domestic flight back to Belize City for your international connection. Airport is 10 miles north of the city, allow extra transfer time.
Insider tip
Book ATM Cave well in advance, tour slots fill weeks ahead. Early departure means smaller groups and cooler cave temperatures.
